Apostolia Papadamaki - SuperLux

With no intention to develop any ambitious authoritative theory on love, Papadamaki makes a decisive entrance to a landscape where marvels of the unexpected happen; in a room that is only periodically inhabited and has no smell of claim, exclusivity, conventional reality or fear. In a place, where two lovers experience the excess of love and endorse life to the limits of death in a subjective sphere of time. This unique universe has only space for two. Their substance and energy leaves no space for anything or anyone else. They exist simply in order to explain and learn one another. And the audience, as a secret intermediary, is called upon to witness each of their new encounters that always appears as their very first. Like a scene of recollection in non-linear time, the room resembles to a song and their love breathes as a revolutionary act.

In search of the erotism that was lost:

The two protagonists of this play by Apostolia Papadamaki are also the protagonists of the festival this year. The image, a pair holding each other on the floor, extracts from itself its own performance: a reflexion about erotism.

The choreographer throws a question at the public: does erotism still exist in our society? She doesn’t only ask a question, she talks to us directly through her dancers, who continuously tease the public through physical contact, tearing up the fourth wall. The public participates on the show, not only looking but also being touched, provoked and seduced. If we have lost, by any chance, our sense of erotism, classical scenes of seduction will help us find it ! Arianna Fernández
