Apostolia Papadamaki portrait at DelphiApostolia Papadamaki (she/her) is an internationally acclaimed choreographer and director, known for designing participatory experiences for audiences in Greece and abroad. She has been creating Anamnesis performances at major archaeological sites in Greece, supported by major public organisations aiming to activate the reuse of sacred sites and reconnect the audiences with the platonic idea of remembrance. 

Apostolia has a wealth of experience in conceiving and implementing large-scale artistic projects, corporate events, opera, and site-specific events. Her extensive background includes notable leadership roles such as serving on the Board of Directors at The Athens Concert Hall and acting as President of the State School of Dance. Additionally, she has played a significant role in leading several EU Creative Europe programs, which have been instrumental in fostering international artistic collaborations. Her work, influenced by Ancient Greek mythology and philosophy, has been showcased at numerous festivals worldwide.
She is also a mindfulness and spirituality mentor and founded The Happiness Retreat.

Apostolia, a visionary choreographer and director, creates unique ceremonial performances called Anamnesis, which are experiential and participatory. These performances, presented at major archaeological sites in Greece, aim to reconnect audiences with their essence and their connection to humanity, nature, and the divine.

Born in 1967 in a small town in Northern Greece, Apostolia is a Greek Ancient Wisdom Keeper and an embodied practices mentor. Her artistic work and teaching methods explore how Ancient Greek Mythology, Philosophy, Drama, and History can be integrated into performative rituals to activate sacred sites and evoke remembrance in people's hearts. She believes rituals enact myths, allowing participants to engage deeply with ancient stories. With over 15 years of experience choreographing Ancient Greek Tragedy, she expertly combines Logos, Melos, and Orchesis (Word, Music, Movement).

Some of her major artistic achievements include "Drops of Breath," the world's first underwater dance performance, "Synergy," the 12th Paralympic Games Opening Ceremony in Athens, and "From Darkness To Light," the first overnight experiential performance at a Greek archaeological site. Her work has been showcased at over 40 festivals worldwide, and she teaches workshops and retreats both nationally and internationally.

Apostolia's productions have graced over 15 archaeological sites in Greece and have been showcased at numerous festivals worldwide.

Apostolia's educational background includes studies in Sports Science at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Dance at the State School of Dance of Greece. She furthered her education with a BA in choreography in New York, supported by scholarships from prestigious institutions like the Onassis Foundation and the Goulandris Foundation. Additionally, she has delved into well-being modalities such as Meditation, Mindfulness, Yoga, and Breathwork.

Driven by creativity, innovation, and a strong connection to her Ancient Greek Lineage, Apostolia has gained extensive experience in conceptualising, choreographing, and directing large-scale artistic projects, corporate events, opera, and film productions.
Apostolia's leadership abilities and organizational acumen are evident in her roles as a visionary artist, polymath, and humanitarian. She has served on the Board of Directors at The Athens Concert Hall (2016-2019) and acted as the President of the Board of the State School of Dance (2004-2006). Moreover, she has spearheaded various EU Creative Europe programs, fostering collaborations with numerous European countries.
