All is One

Première: 24 July 2021,  Minoan Palace Of Zakros, Crete, Greece

' For the Minoan artist, all beings and things move perpetually in the same direction, but just like the celestial bodies, the seasons, and life itself, they return to the same place without stopping or disappearing. This movement forms a perfect circle, the only shape that has no beginning or end. '

Lefteris Platon, Professor of Archeology.

We are thrilled to present Apostolia’s original production All Is One,  an experiential representation of rolling flow events based on Kinesis, Melos, and Logos, specially designed for the Minoan Palace of Zakros, still untouched by time, disappeared from the map of history in 1400 BC.

Connecting cultural heritage with contemporary performance art, “All Is One” draws inspiration from the fiery faith of the Minoans in Mother Nature or the Great Goddess of Crete. Performers and the audience create a mystical experience of connection with the ever-circling motion of the surrounding world.

Everything forms a perfect circle, the only shape that has neither beginning nor end. Everything moves endlessly in the same direction, just like celestial bodies, the seasons, and this life, all returning to the same point without stopping or disappearing.

An amazing artistic team contributed to making All Is One a memorable performance, with an original music score by Trifon Koutsourelis, costumes by Ifigeneia Daudaki, and texts by acclaimed theater director/actor Akylas Karazisis. Bringing together live on stage the singer/vocalist Maria Papageorgiou and the art direction in lighting/photography of Areion Stefanidis, turned the archeological site of Zakros into a living mythical space, while the participation of local children and adults made the myths of the past more present than ever.

All Is One is performed by nine performers: Akylas Karazisis, Apostolia Papadamaki, Maria Papageorgiou, Plotinos Eliadis, Konstantina Liontou, Antonis Strouzas, Maria Papakonstantinou, Evita Tsakalaki, Roula Samiotaki.

' Everything is connected and everything is a miracle. Every part of the body, every breath, every ray, every shadow, every creature, All Is One. '
